Dad-to-Be Dies Hours before Wife's Scheduled C-Section to Deliver Twins

The Short of It

A dad-to-be unthinkably dies the night before his wife's scheduled C-section to deliver their twin sons.

The Lowdown

Massachusetts lawyer Dino Trubiano passed away in his sleep at the age of 39, just hours before his wife Sue gave birth to their twin boys, Caleb Peter and Jacob Dino.

According to Us Weekly, the night before the scheduled birth, Sue woke up to hearing noises and then her husband gasping. She called 911, but paramedics were unable to revive him.

How she was able to then face her C-section a few hours later, by herself, is just unimaginable.

Sue's sister Nancy Lauricella said this in a statement to Us Weekly:

"Dino will forever be the loving, loyal, determined, selfless and compassionate man who waited in eager anticipation for the arrival of his sons. He was thrilled to assume his role as father and all that it would encompass, from changing diapers to raising the next generation of Patriots fans. Dino and Sue, with their love growing daily ... cherished each moment of pregnancy. Dino would often say it was the best time of his life. While his sons will never meet him, it is certain that Sue, along with Dino's family and friends, will never let them forget him."

The Upshot

It's believed Dino may have suffered from a heart attack or a seizure. But the Trubiano family is still waiting for answers in this dad's mysterious death. His sister says he was a vegetarian, who never even ate butter; ran daily; and never smoked.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the suddenly single mom-of-twins. On the page, it says, "Sue has lost her husband suddenly and is also giving birth to their twin boys as I set up this page. I can not even begin to imagine the emotions, and the pain she must be feeling. I know as friends, and parents we can all empathize and feel nothing but love for her. [sic]"
