Former NFL Player Writes Heartfelt Tribute to Son Killed in Car Accident

The Short of It

Former NFL running back Danny Ware's 3-year-old son Danny was killed last week after being hit by a truck while playing outside the family's Atlanta home with his brother, cousins, and mom, Liberty. Over the weekend, Ware wrote a heartfelt post on Facebook about his young son, asking for prayers and support.

The Lowdown

"My life has been a roller coaster in every since of the word [sic]," he wrote. "From high school to college to NFL. I've never had it easy nor have I ever forgotten where I come from. I pray the lord to give me a sign. I've lost my youngest son to a truck that didn't see him, I can't imagine what it felt like and would trade myself any day to have my son Danny Josiah back with his brother, sister and family. Danny I love I'm so thankful I got to talk to you today b4 the accident happened and we both got to say we loved eachother. Anybody that know me and know how much I love my kids please pretty please pray for my family as I'm at a breaking point and need all the help from God/family/friends we can get.[sic]"

The Upshot

The Ware's family and friends have set up a GoFundMe page for Danny Josiah Ware to assist with funeral expenses. "On Friday, January 29, 2016 Danny and Liberty experienced a parent's worst nightmare, the loss of their youngest son, Danny Josiah Ware, in a tragic accident," it reads. "Danny and Liberty are very blessed to have an enormous amount of love and support from family, friends, the entire Bulldawg Nation, and Giants Nation. If we could all come together to help support this sweet family and continue to keep them in your prayers."
