The Short of It
Great news for Harry Potter fans! In a recent newsletter to the members of the Harry Potter fan-site, Pottermore, J.K. Rowling announced that she'll release 12 new Harry Potter stories that expand on the wizarding world on the 12 days leading up to Christmas.
Starting on Dec. 12, each new installment will be posted at 8 a.m. EST on Pottermore and will include "moments from Half-Blood Prince, shiny gold Galleons and even a new potion or two." One of the stories is rumored to focus on former school rival, Draco Malfoy.
The 12 days of Christmas will provide fans with the first new material since the release of the seventh novel, proving Rowling is not entirely ready to put her series to rest. On Halloween, she posted a story detailing some of Dolores Umbridge's background. And this past July, Rowling published a tongue-in-cheek column in the voice of Rita Skeeter that focused on an adult Harry Potter, his family and his best friends, Ron and Hermione, as they all attended the Quidditch World Cup.
Harry Potter may be gone from the limelight these days, but he is obviously not forgotten, and it looks like he might be making a comeback! I don't know about you, but I followed the series from the beginning and would love to find out how Harry's life plays out.
