The Short of It
A Georgia mom completed a college psychology exam while she was in labor at the hospital.
Moms are known for multitasking. Just ask 21-year-old Tommitrise Collins who—perhaps preparing for her new role—took an online test from her hospital bed while she was in labor, even as her contractions escalated to three minutes apart!
Collins' water broke on Nov. 12, the same day she was scheduled to take a two-hour psychology test for a class at Middle Georgia State University.
"If I'm not in too much pain, I'll take it," Collins told her sister, Shanell Chapman. "It took me 4-5 hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I wouldn't have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn."
Collins told Fox 5 Atlanta that even her nurse was shocked about her taking the test, but she was determined to finish, and finish she did, completing the two-hour exam in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Meanwhile, her sister was busy posting a pic of the studious mom-to-be on her laptop in her hospital gown to Facebook, along with the caption: "This is what you call 'Strong Priorities'...You are going to be a great mom baby sis!"
Not surprisingly, the post has since gone viral, with almost 15,000 shares.
Collins scored a passing grade on the test. But the determined new mom wasn't satisfied with her first score, so she requested a re-take and ended up with a B as her final grade.
You're an A+ in our book, mama!
