Sd.Kfz.232 Pz.Aufkl.Abt.4 4.Pz. Division, Eastern Front 1943 (1:72) by Dragon Armor Item Number: DRR60586Germany created a number ...of successful schwerer Panzerspahwagen ('heavy armored reconnaissance vehicles') to support its forces. Among them was the family based on the Sd.Kfz.231 8-Rad ('eight-wheel') design. The Sd.Kfz.232 accommodated extra radio equipment and a large frame antenna for longer-distance communication. The armored car's Bussing-NAG 8x8 chassis offered good cross-country mobility and the vehicle also possessed eight-wheel steering. There were dual driver's controls, which meant the vehicle could drive rapidly in either direction if it came under attack. The 8.3-tonne design was ordered in 1934, and both the Sd.Kfz.231 and 232 featured a hexagonal-shaped turret mounting a 2cm KwK 30 cannon plus one MG34 machine gun. Production of the Sd.Kfz.232 ceased in 1943 in favor of the newer Sd.Kfz.234/2 Puma.Dragon Armor has done it again by producing another brand new item! It's an Sd.Kfz.232 and it features ALL NEW TOOLING. The unique shape of this 8x8 armored vehicle is beautifully captured, and the antenna frame is finely rendered. This type of vehicle was more common during the early part of WWII, so it's fitting that the model represents a vehicle fighting in Eastern Front 1943. This Sd.Kfz.232 bears the markings of the 4th Panzer Division, and it's painted in a typical camouflage scheme. read more

Sd.Kfz. 234/3 Aufklarungs Abt.226, 116th Panzer Division, Normandy, 1944 (1:72) by Hobby Master Diecast Military ArmorItem Number:... HG4304The eight-wheeled Sd.Kfz.234/4 was created as a stop gap measure. Designed as an anti-tank destroyer it was in a way similar to the Marder Tank Destroyer because it was poorly armored and had an open top making the crew very vulnerable. This vehicle was able to neutralize almost every enemy tank of that time as long as it wasn't a head to head engagement. The Sd.Kfz.234/4 was primarily used by reconnaissance companies and provided anti-tank support for other reconnaissance vehicles. 226.Aufklarungsabteilungen (armored Reconnaissance detachment) belonged to 116.Panzer. Division that was known as the "Windhund Divisonen" (Greyhound Division). 116.Pz Div. was formed in March 1944 and sent to the Pas-de-Calais. From August 7th ' 13th the 116 Pz Div. was involved in Operation Luttich, a failed German counteroffensive that saw German forces being encircled in the Falaise Pocket. From August 12th ' 21st the Germans were on the defensive and eventually some did escape with heavy losses. By August 21st the 116.Pz Div. only had 600 men and 12 tanks left.Specifications Sd.Kfz.234/4Crew ' 4PerformanceEngine ' Tatra 103 / 12-cylinder air-cooled diesel producing up to 220 hp at 2,250 rpmGearbox ' 6 forward & 6 reverseFuel capacity ' 360 litresRoad speed ' 80 km/hRoad range ' 900 kmCross country ' 600 kmDimensionsLength ' 6 mWidth ' 2.4 mHeight ' 2.21 mWeight ' 11,500 kgArmament1 x 75 mm PaK-40 L/46 main gun with 12 rounds1 x 7.92 mm MG34/42 with 1,950 roundsArmor ' 5 ' 30 mm read more

Early in the war there was an urgent need for self-propelled anti-tank platforms, especially when the Wehrmacht was confronted by ...well-armored enemy vehicles such as the T-34 and KV-I during the invasion of Russia. Many hybrid designs were converted from obsolete tank chassis. The Marder II was a case in point, as it was based on a Panzer II chassis. The Mid-Production version of the Marder II (Sd.Kfz.131) was armed with 7.5cm PaK 40. Some 576 Marder IIs were produced from June 1942 till June 1943, and they fought primarily on the Eastern Front.Dragon’s new 1/35 scale kit is a superb rendition of a Early-Production variant, and it perfectly complements the Marder II family in Dragon line-up. New tooling for this kit include the spare track rack, upper hull, vision port on starboard side and the ammo lockers. Cartograf decal are included.Miniatures are supplied unpainted and assembly may be required. read more

The Sd. Kfz.2 kleines Kettenkrad was originally designed as a light tractor for airborne troops, but it quickly gained widespread ...use amongst German troops. It was steered like a motorbike, while at the rear were twin track runs. In total, some 8,345 examples of this nifty vehicle were manufactured. This kit has upgraded, parts that will enable modelers to create an Early-Production Sd. Kfz.2. Totally new parts include an updated sprocket wheel design, as well as the inclusion of miniature yet easy-to-assemble DS tracks. Dragons kit is stunningly detailed. Of course, its a tiny vehicle in 1/35 scale, but theres no stinting on detail. For example, a full engine is included inside the hull. To add to its attractiveness, the Kettenkrad comes with a driver and an infanteriekarren (ï ½infantry cart) that can be towed behind it. Dragons two-wheeled infanteriekarren had long disappeared from the market and from shop shelves, but its now making a reappearance. It not only works with the Sd. Kfz.2, but the versatile wooden cart could also be combined with other vehicles such as a Kï ½belwagen, or simply used as a diorama accessory. Modelers will need to make sure they dont miss the opportunity to obtain these two small, but very popular, items! read more
The Sd.Kfz.161, more commonly referred to as the Panzer IV, was the most widely produced German tank of WWII, with 8500 produced f...rom 1936-45. One of the later variants was the Panzer IV Ausf.H - it commenced production in April 1943 and a total of 3013 vehicles were completed. It was one of the most important panzers of WWII. Dragon Armor's new Panzer IV Ausf.H is a veritable work of art, and it will be an invaluable addition to Dragon Armor's family. What made the Ausf.H distinctive? Perhaps most obvious is the installation of 5mm-thick steel side skirts and turret skirts on the tank. Glacis armor was thickened to 80mm too. All the extra armor caused the weight of the Ausf.H to jump to 25 tonnes. read more

The Tiger I was one of the most heavily armed and armored tanks of WWII, and a formidable opponent of Allied tanks. The Tiger was essentially still at the prototype stage when first hurried into service, and therefore changes, both small and large, were made throughout the production run. Production of the Tiger I began in August 1942, and 1,355 were built by August 1944 when production ceased. The Tiger was first used in action in September 1942 near Leningrad.
