Cotton scarf, 'Sunny Day' (Guatemala)

Ecological Weavers from San Juan de la Laguna weave tradition with today's trends in the design of this scarf. They dye the cotton threads with natural pigments such as the bark from the palo de pito tree for yellow, and jacobina leaves for the gray. Woven on a back strap loom, the scarf represents the weaving legacy inherited from the Maya culture.
