A skeleton maiden wears the traditional dress of the China Poblana literally, the "Oriental woman from Puebla." Legend tells how Mirra, a girl of India, was kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in Mexico in the 1600s. Freed when her owner died, she became a nun and is buried in the Templo de la Compa a, in Puebla.
