It’s hard to imagine a time before Sesame Street and, thankfully, for many of us, we don’t have to. The beloved show is turning 50 this year and they have a bunch of celebrations taking place. The lovable monsters are hitting the road for the Sesame Street Road Trip and will be working their way west across the United States through August 3. They’ve also teamed up with a lot of cool brands and people along the way. We even got a chance to talk to Sutton Foster about her partnership with the show and her work with Lactaid, an official sponsor of the Sesame Street Road Trip.  “I can still count to 10 in Spanish because of Sesame Street,” she said. “It is innocent. It is educational. It is fun and whimsical and it’s timeless. I watch the new Sesame Street episodes but I still go back to the classics, and they still remain relevant. All of the teachings from the ‘80—when I was watching it—still remain the same today. I can’t believe it’s been 50 years, and I’m so proud that it’s been such a part of my life!”

She also discussed Sesame Street’s partnership with Lactaid. “I have a wonderful relationship with Sesame Street, I grew up watching Sesame Street,” she said.” “I’m now introducing it to my daughter and Lactaid is the official milk sponsor for the 50th anniversary road trip. Milk is back in my life because of my daughter and Lactaid is 100% real milk, just without the lactose. They also have ice cream, cottage cheese, and you can cook with it!”

Foster wanted to spread the word about how lactose can “upset some people’s tummies,” but that shouldn’t stop them from being able to enjoy milk, especially when it’s paired with delicious cookies. She even created an adorable video with Cookie Monster, so be sure to check it out!
