Whether you’re spending a day at the Disney Parks or packing for a week at sea on a Disney Cruise, sun protection is an absolute must. Plus, no one wants to spend their vacation nursing a sunburn. Standing in lines for rides might not feel the same as getting a tan at the beach, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear sunscreen. Remember to slather some on 15 minutes before sun exposure and throughout the day. Especially after Splash Mountain—it’s always a good idea to reapply after getting wet.

Walking Shoes

Disney Parks are anything but small. Be prepared for long days walking all around the parks by bringing a comfortable pair of shoes. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can even grab your activity tracker and see how much you walk on your vacation. Don’t forget to get the kids trackers also so they can join in on the fun!

Autograph Book

Half the fun of going to Disney is meeting all of your favorite characters in person. An autograph book comes in handy when meeting the characters, but it also makes a great keepsake for later. The personalized cover can be changed for couples or kids and is just as sweet as Dole Whip. After your big trip, make an extra-special keepsake by framing a favorite autograph and a picture from your trip to the park.

Collapsible Water Bottle

Spending a day at Disney means you’ll want to keep hydrated. Luckily, it’s Disney policy to give free cups of water at any quick service counter. Bring a reusable water bottle into the parks and you can save yourself some money and a headache (literally, that’s a sign of dehydration!). This collapsible water bottle folds down flat, making it easy to throw into a day bag to use when you need it.

Whether you opt for the meal plans at the park or you decide to make your own, having snacks on hand is always a good idea. This fun snack container has many different functions. Put your family’s favorite snacks inside and store it in your park bag to avoid meltdowns between meals, the fun sphere shape allows for use as a toy, and on the way back home you can put small items inside to avoid losing them.

Emergency Ponchos

Don’t let it rain on your (Festival of Fantasy) Parade. Make sure to throw a couple of ponchos in your suitcase just in case. These are super lightweight and fold up small so you can bring them all through the parks without having to worry about extra weight in your bag. These are especially useful on Disney Cruises. Tropical destinations frequently rain in the morning, making lightweight rain gear a must-have.

Spending an entire day at the Disney Parks means you’ll need to bring a few essentials. You’ll want a bag that’s easy to tote around but can still fit everything you need. Parenting editors love Fawn Design diaper bags for everyday use, and The Pack by Fawn Design is a great choice that both mom and dad won’t mind carrying. If you’re a light packer and don’t need a huge backpack, try the Fawny Pack. The bright red color is the perfect shade of Minnie Mouse red and the small design allows you to hop on and off rides without trouble.
